Michaela Martin Yoga

Michaela's love of yoga radiates through her teaching. She started practicing as a junior in high school. However, it wasn't until her freshman year of college that she started a regular practice. It was at that point she discovered yoga's ability to not only make her body feel great, but change old habits and negative thought patterns. Michaela quickly fell in love with the practice and took a year off from school during which she earned her 200-hour Vinyasa Bhakti Flow certification through Gopi Kinnicut.

Michaela teaches a slow, but powerful and heat building vinyasa class focused on creating deeper body awareness and a steadiness of the mind. Her thoughtful and unique sequencing combined with thorough alignment cues and fun playlists will keep you engaged, playful and on your toes throughout the class. Michaela challenges her student's abilities, allowing them to find their edge while still creating a safe practice suitable for all levels. She specializes in breaking down seemingly challenging postures into their pieces, allowing students to approach them with confidence and comfort.

Michaela's love of anatomy and interest in learning the deeper, therapeutic benefits of yoga has led her to Michaela enroll in Tiffany Cruikshank's 500-hour Yoga Medicine training. Michaela has completed several modules of this training and is enjoying diving deeper into her understanding of the body and yoga.

Michaela studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Bastyr University and hopes to combine the healing powers of yoga and food to help people reach their highest potential. Outside of the studio Michaela works as the Resident House chef for the Forest Ridge School of Sacred Heart in Bellevue, Washington providing whole food meals to the international students who live on campus.
